This fork is somewhere between a broadfork and a spading fork, Designed by Jodi Roebuck of Roebuck Farm, It features 7 x 300mm tynes across a 400mm wide footplate. Ideal for prepping double dug or pre-cultivated beds.
This tool is designed to be used like a broadfork, without having to stand on the bed. It is small and lighter than a broadfork being on 5kg and 400 mm wide. This allows you to work from the pathway, using one foot to drive the forks deep into the soil profile and using the 830 mm long handle to lever back the tynes. The 7 by 300 mm tynes gives excellent uplift and aeration to the soil without excessive mixing of damage to the soil profile. It made from 5 mm thick by 300 mm long hardened and tempered tynes. A single tubular shaft and a wooden handle for that soft warm textural feel. This tool is not for breaking new beds, but excellent to prepping existing beds.
